My long term goal is to restore it to a good looking, good running jeep. But right now I just want to get it road worthy enough to register it and pass the county smog test for hunting this year. This picture was taken before I picked it up from my parent's house.
I have a list started of things I need to do to the jeep:
- Replace the seats and seat belts, these ones are out of an 80's Pontiac and ugly, they also sit way too high causing the driver and passenger to hit their heads on the roll cage on bumpy terrain.
- Install a rear gas tank.
- Upgrade to front disc brakes.
- Rebuild the carb.
- Body work, I need to cut out some cancer spots and weld in some new panels. Not to mention fix some areas that have a thick coating of body putty.
- Paint job for not only the body but the interior, roll cage and the wheels.
- Tranny rebuild and replace the throwout bearing.
- Reroute the exhaust to the back of the jeep.
